1First of all, it depends on what type of rock you want. River stones are a lot cheaper than say moss rock.

In my area (of southern Colorado) landscape companies sell boulders anywhere from 3 cents a pound to 9 cents a pound. If you get a cheaper rock variety, a one ton boulder could cost as little as $60.
